Level 2 Electrical qualification and GCSE English and maths at 4+ (Equivalent Qualifications from overseas will be considered; if an applicant has a grade 3 in either maths or English they will also be considered, but must retake that exam.)
Learners interested in the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Electrical Installation (8202) will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks. Compulsory topics include: Engineering materials; Planning and overseeing electrical work activities; Principles of electrical science; Electrical design and installation practices and procedures; Principles of inspection, testing and commissioning; Electrical systems; Inspecting, testing and commissioning electrical systems; Electrical system fault diagnosis and rectification; Requirements for electrical installations.
Your work will be assessed by a combination of City & Guilds knowledge exams and assessments of your practical work by a qualified assessor. You will be given help to prepare for all assessments and tests. The qualification also involves Employer involvement as part of the course
The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma In Electrical Installation (8202) can lead to a higher level apprenticeship, or on to other courses such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. In order to be considered for progression to the next level of Electrical courses students need to have 85%+ attendance in their current course.
